The incredible site at Fish Island already had planning consent and was ready to start on site. Claire’s view was that the consented scheme was not nearly rich or contextual enough to suit the fine grained and multi-use nature of the area. A competition was held to find the architect who would enhance the consented scheme without requiring a complete return to the planning drawing board. Haworth Tompkins and Pitman Tozer are now on site with a hugely improved offer, including the involvement of the Trampery to provide affordable workspace.
